Day 1-2: Introduction to VLSI and Semiconductor Basics

– Gain an understanding of VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) and its significance in contemporary electronics.

– Explore the basics of semiconductors, delving into semiconductor physics and manufacturing processes.

Day 3-4: Digital Design Fundamentals

– Dive into digital logic design principles, covering Boolean algebra, logic gates, and truth tables.

– Learn about combinational and sequential logic design, laying the groundwork for more advanced concepts.

Day 5-6: Introduction to HDLs and Verilog

– Familiarize yourself with Hardware Description Languages (HDLs) and focus on Verilog HDL.

– Begin writing basic Verilog code to create combinational and sequential logic circuits.

Day 7-8: Combinational Logic Design

– Deepen your understanding of combinational logic circuits and their applications.

– Practice designing and implementing combinational logic circuits using Verilog, with a focus on simulation and testing.

Day 9-10: Sequential Logic Design

– Explore sequential logic circuits and their significance in digital design.

– Design and implement sequential logic circuits using Verilog, emphasizing simulation and testing for validation.

Day 11-12: FPGA Programming Basics

– Introduction to Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and their role in digital design.

– Learn about FPGA architecture and programming fundamentals, followed by practical exercises in Verilog.

Day 13-14: Introduction to ASIC Design Flow

-Gain insight into the Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) design flow, covering specification, design, verification, synthesis, and layout.

-Understand the stages of ASIC design and their importance in the overall development process.

Day 15-16: Introduction to Physical Design

-Dive into physical design aspects of VLSI, including floorplanning, placement, routing, and timing analysis.

-Get introduced to Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools for physical design tasks.

Day 17-20: Real-Time Project Workshops

-Engage in hands-on workshops focusing on real-time projects sourced from partnering companies.

-Apply theoretical concepts learned during the training phase to solve practical VLSI design challenges under the guidance of experienced mentors.

Real-Time Project Work Phase (25 Days):

-Collaborate with peers on real-time projects outsourced from partnering companies.

-Apply VLSI design skills to develop complete circuits or systems, with mentor support throughout.

Project Submission and Evaluation:

-Submit completed projects for evaluation by partnering companies, emphasizing functionality, performance, and design quality.

-Exceptional performers may be offered further internship or job opportunities based on project outcomes and capabilities.

 

Certificate of Internship and Letter of Recommendation:

– Upon successful completion of the program, participants will receive a certificate of internship recognizing their achievements.

-Additionally, participants will receive a personalized letter of recommendation highlighting their skills and contributions during the program.
